Welcome to the
Dyslexia Conference on 17th April 2004
Sorcha and Jo manned a stand at the Dyslexia Association Annual Conference. They attended some of the workshops and they handed out information packs and leaflets. There was very good feedback from the delegates, many of whom knew about Dyspraxia.
Conference in Cork
The association had a request for a conference to be held in Cork. The conference will be aimed at parents/teachers and other professionals. It is hoped to hold the conference in September. More details to follow.
RDS Educational Show 21st -23rd April 2004
For the first time the Dyspraxia Association had a stand at the RDS Educational Show. The Association shared their stand with the BUA Centre.
The show ran for 3 days with different committee members manning the stand on different days. Dawn Duffin from BUA gave presentations and manned the stand every day.
It was felt that it was very worthwhile having the stand as the show targeted teachers from all over the country. Feedback was positive .a number of teachers who have or will have students with dyspraxia next September found it very helpful to have the information on hand. The stand was busy at all times, Particularly on Saturday.
It is felt that it would be worth while to run a stand at the show in future years.
