Welcome to the
The workshop was organised by Jo Collins, an Occupational Therapist based in Tullamore who has been a great support to parents of chilildren with dyspraxia in the Midlands area. Jo's colleagues from the Midlands Health Centre kindly facilitated the workshop.
The day was a tremendous success. The sun shone, and the children were able to participate in a variety of activites from arts and crafts to an outdoor treasure hunt. A particular highlight of the day was the attendance of a percussionist from the area who brought along a huge variety of percussion instuments and encouraged the children to make as much noise (music!) as possible!
Fifteen girls and boys of different ages and from different parts of the country participated in the workshop. New friendships were formed, with some of the older children exchanging phone numbers and addresses. While the children enjoyed themselves, the parents had an opportunity to talk to other parents of children with dyspaxia, exchange information and strategies for coping. A variety of books and papers were available for purchase on the day.
Overall, the workshop was a resounding success for everyone who attended. A special thank you to Jo Collins and her staff for making the day happen.
